But I enjoy the fresh start and toying around with the new options, while preferring online play over offline all day, even if there might be connection issues on very rare occasions. I would consider myself casual as well, I have quite a deep insight in the game mechanics but not much time those days, so diving to deep into the ranking and economy thing would be hard for me to do anyway. So its a matter of personal preference and needs if ladder play is something for you or not. The often applied downsides of major botting, class imbalance and broken economy are tbh only relevant if you are trying to run for a ladder position or want to trade a lot for value, for pure casual gamers those are usually non-issues. If you experienced major connection issues in the past from playing online and can absolutely exclude yourself from group play, offline play is probably the best option. This is additionally true if you enjoy a fresh start and an empty stash and do like the challenge, and want to leave yourself the option to play together with other people, even if not regularly.
